i would like to see which computer attempts to access a blocked site. it wouldnt matter if it was by ip address or by computer name, but having one of the 2 options would be great. i like the idea of having a list of the blocked domains, but i need to know who tried to go to them.

I do not think DNS can log your internal IPs. The DNS servers only see the IP with which you are on the internet. Although the packet contains routing data for the router I don't think this is possible. It would be better to use an internal proxy server.

He didn't necessarily mention internal IPs..... but more than likely that's what was meant.

I think this is a good idea, it should also be possible because you set your router to connect to their DNS servers (?)

I don't think it can see your internal IP address, I may be wrong, but other services that do this use proxy servers / proxy agents which are installed inside the organisation, they then create a cookie which is sent over.

I may be wrong, but I don't think this is possible, and the software option would need a lot of work both on opendns's side getting it all working, and then on the customer side in setting up.

So prob not a realistic option.
