Hello,
In an office setting people understand quickly that if the IP is not updated in opendns, well the filters just do not work. They just have to restart the router and surf freely without any block.
The list of software listed to update the Dynamic IP automatically are great but too visible on people's computer and can be disabled easily by users. Having a computer turned on 24 hours with the updating software is not a solution.
It would be good to have a tailored script that can work on Windowz, Mac & Linux, working in the background and invisible to the user. All computers would then have this script installed and when the computer is turned on or restarted, the IP update is done.
Thank you.
Michel

Dear Michael,
You could resolve your problem by running a DNS updater as a service. DynDns updater does give you this option, just to name one. You can prevent users from stopping services, by setting a rule on the Group Policy Editor. An alternative would be to run the DynDns service on one trusted computer, assuming that all Network users are behind a NAT and thus share the same external IP address.
