I'd like OpenDNS to include a test of my Internet DNS zones, such as whether I have proper MX records, functioning delegation, fast enough server responses, and check the availability, and log changes, such as a suddenly missing PTR record, or SERVFAIL responses, or a NS that stops replying at all.

Alerting would be in the management console and to multiple email addresses.

This confuses the resolver (OpenDNS) with the nameserver (your end).

There are several good tools and services to do what you're looking for, but in normal operation OpenDNS doesn't.

i use the toolset from dnsstuff.com and would recommend this service for your dns testing...
