I would like to see something that we can have a dedicated IPs for the dns like 222.222.221.221 would be pointed to my login so we can give out these ips to customers or for computer repair, and webhosting, like myself, we can put these into their computers and it would load our configuration if the dns doesnt resolve.

Thanks Tom

It could be done as a paid service, but as a free service, it's impossible without losing valuable money.

Yeah, until IPv6 comes out and is the only thing used, it wouldn't happen.

There's not enough IPs in IPv4 to do this.

I was going to say something to this effect. There's just not enough IPs to be handing them out like that.

Setup a cheap dedicated server and configure it to use a specific OpenDNS configuration and provide unfiltered DNS proxy (or filter proxying to the specific IP's of your customers). Give your customers that IP address for their DNS needs.

We run our own Bind servers which are configured to forward all requests to OpenDNS.

Then all users are set to use our Bind servers for DNS lookup.

We also generate stats from the logs generated on our Bind machines which we use Sawmill to analyse.

It's nice to be in control......

Thanks all for the replies, in regards to adding the customer to my network I would physically have to be there to add the client, am looking into using option b where I would setup the dns server and point my own IPs thats basically what I wanted but didnt think it would work let me try, thanks all

In another idea I suggested: Create multiple set's of nameservers per filetering level. So there is no need for configuring an account (or 'dynamic ip address update software')
